ROBO Medical's Digestive Endoscopy Surgical Robot System Completes Animal Experiment

Beijing, China, January 1, 2024 ROBO Medical's EndoDreams digestive endoscopy surgical robot system successfully completed animal experiments, signaling the formal initiation of a new chapter for EndoDreams as it prepares to enter the registration and validation phase.

ROBO Medical's Digestive Endoscopy Surgical Robot System Completes Animal Experiment

Under the guidance of gastrointestinal experts, this experiment involved performing endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) on live experimental pigs. The surgery successfully removed multiple pseudo-early cancer lesions, with some lesions being smoothly excised under retroflex conditions. The surgical outcomes met the expected targets across various tests, concluding the animal experiments smoothly. This provided full verification of the precision, safety, and effectiveness of the EndoDreams digestive endoscopy surgical robot system.

Innovatively incorporating multi-degree-of-freedom flexible arms, the EndoDreams digestive endoscopy surgical robot system enables a surgical approach resembling laparoscopy under endoscopy, significantly reducing the surgical threshold for digestive endoscopy procedures. It manages the entire process from a physician's entry into the endoscope to the surgical phase, effectively transforming endoscopic surgery into a more surgical approach. The adoption of the smallest diameter flexible arms globally (diameter less than 3mm) enhances the precision of digestive surgeries, reduces the learning curve for doctors, and lowers the difficulty in promoting and popularizing robotic procedures.

About ROBO Medical

ROBO Medical

ROBO Medical is a medical robot R&D enterprise entering the industrialization stage. ROBO Medical was first founded in Switzerland, then branched out to Silicon Valley, USA. Today, ROBO Medical headquarters is based in Shenzhen, China. In the company's fledging days, its technology and talents came from primarily Lausanne Institute of Technology (EPFL) and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) alumni. Since then, however, ROBO Medical has grown tremendously, and has brought many of its own technological advancements and talents into the field of medical robots, notably in design and control of Parallel Mechanism, parallel surgical robots, force feedback, machine vision, automatic surgery, and other fields. ROBO Medical has taken the lead in applying these technologies in cardiovascular, anesthesia, digestion, ultrasound diagnosis, etc.
